Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to the website for the 9th Australasian Masonry Conference. This will be the first time that New Zealand has hosted this three yearly conference and it is fitting that it is held in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Masonry is a proven traditional building material widely used because of its aesthetic appeal, strength, durability and sustainable properties. The 9th Australasian Masonry Conference will allow participants to stay abreast of international and domestic trends and innovation in both research and building practice.

This website will be updated on a regular basis as we count down to the conference. I recommend that you bookmark it and visit regularly.

On behalf of the organising team, I look forward to welcoming you to the Queenstown conference in February 2011.

Jason Ingham
Organising Committee Chairman

Conference Location

Queenstown - Adventure capital of the world www.queenstown-nz.co.nz

Rugged mountains, majestic lakes, crystal clear air, and just so much to do. From bungy jumping to wine trails, jet boating to tramping, dining out to skiing, the tricky part is extending your stay to try and fit everything in.

The area has captured hearts and imaginations since the first Maori came in search of pounamu (greenstone) and the giant moa bird. More recently, gold miners, adventurers, filmmakers, wine enthusiasts, Hollywood stars and US Presidents have been drawn to this magical region and its intense alpine energy.
